Relationship between Apelin/APJ Signaling, Oxidative Stress, and Diseases

چکیده

Apelin, a peptide hormone, is an endogenous ligand for G protein-coupled receptor and has been shown to be widely expressed in human animal tissues, such as the central nervous system adipose tissue. Recent studies indicate that apelin/APJ involved regulation of multiple physiological pathological processes, it associated with cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, neurological ischemia-reperfusion injury, aging, eclampsia, deafness, tumors. The occurrence development these diseases are closely related local inflammatory response. Oxidative stress balance between oxidation antioxidant broken, reactive oxygen species produced large quantities, causing cell or molecular damage, which leads vascular damage series reactions. Hence, this article reviewed recent advances relationship oxidative stress, inflammation-related highlights them potential therapeutic targets stress-related diseases.

Relationships between Stress Granules, Oxidative Stress, and Neurodegenerative Diseases

Cytoplasmic stress granules (SGs) are critical for facilitating stress responses and for preventing the accumulation of misfolded proteins. SGs, however, have been linked to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, in part because SGs share many components with neuronal granules. Oxidative stress is one of the conditions that induce SG formation. SGs regulate redox levels, and SG formati...

Metal-Induced Oxidative Stress and Cellular Signaling Alteration in Animals

Contamination by heavy metals has attracted increasing attention considering the ability of these elements in producing serious consequence to ecosystem, and especially on animals health. Due to their widespread use in human activities such as industry, agriculture and even as medicine (e.g. arsenic, selenium and platinum), numerous health risks may be associated with exposure to these substanc...

Relationship between paraoxonase and homocysteine: crossroads of oxidative diseases

Homocysteine (Hcy) is an accepted independent risk factor for several major pathologies including cardiovascular disease, birth defects, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, and renal failure. Interestingly, many of the pathologies associated with homocysteine are also linked to oxidative stress. The enzyme paraoxonase (PON1) - so named because of its ability to hydrolyse the toxic metabolite of ...

Oxidative Stress-Induced Diseases via the ASK1 Signaling Pathway

Apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) is a mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase kinase that activates the downstream MAPKs, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and p38. ASK1 is activated by various types of stress, such as oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and infection, and regulates various cellular functions. Recently, it has been reported that ASK1 is associated with...

the relationship between critical thinking and reading strategies

during the process of reading, sometimes learners use ineffective and inefficient strategies and some factors may influence their use of strategies. perhaps critical thinking is one of these factors. this study aims to identify those categories of reading strategies that are mostly used by iranian efl learners and to see if there is any significant relationship between the critical thinking abi...
